The Parish Plan
In October 2007 the Parish Plan Committee was convened as an advisory group to the Parish Council. The eight members ranged in age from 28 to over 80, two were Parish Councillors and all aimed to represent the interests of the whole village community. The plan was first published in August 2009 and was formally reviewed in 2014/5. An updated plan was printed and distributed round the village in April 2015.
The Parish Council are currently discussing whether to undertake producing a Neighbourhood Plan which is a legal document and would take several years to complete. Neighbourhood planning enables communities to play a much stronger role in shaping the areas in which they live and work and in supporting new development proposals. This is because unlike the parish, village or town plans that communities may have prepared, a neighbourhood plan forms part of the development plan and sits alongside the local plan prepared by the local planning authority.
