Hello from your New Webmaster & Website Updates
Hello! My name is Edward and I’ve taken over as Webmaster for the official Barton St David website, replacing Jon Harrington. I understand he worked on this website for a number of years, so many thanks to him for all of his hard work.
The Parish Council recently voted to change the hosting of the website. The changeover has now been completed and hopefully you can now have a faster experience browsing the website. I have also made some other changes:
- A newly redesigned home page with access to the most important pages of the website. The page also includes a search box that you can use to search the entire website – note that search results will appear as you type for added convenience.
- Security improvements including encryption as well as other improvements behind the scenes.
- There’s a new “News” page which displayed items previously occupying a small area of the old home page.
- Some of the menu items have been rearranged for easier navigation.
- As well as some other small, uninteresting improvements.
There’s still some work to be done, as a lot of the content on this website has not been updated in a while. However, I certainly feel that we are off the starting blocks.
Caron (the Parish Clerk) has circulated my contact details however if you want to contact me then you can use the contact form on the website. I’d be especially interested to hear from people who have ideas or suggestions on how to improve the website.
FIBRE BROADBAND
Did you throw away the leaflet on fibre broadband without reading it? Well nearly 100 households have already registered their interest and the prospects of getting a ‘free’ fibre broadband connection are already encouraging. The prospects improve the more that register. If you are one of those who have leaflet fatigue and did not read or keep yours, don’t panic you can read it HERE

Better Broadband in Barton
A new company is offering a better internet broadband service than we currently have in the village. We need to show interest by registering and then Truespeed will come and install the new cables and enable their 200Mbps service. We’ve written a plain English guide Easy Truespeed v2, and the sign up form is Truespeed-SOForm-1911TN.
